Addison Lee extends hi-tech systems strategy with CODA Financials

CODA Group, the finance software specialist, today announced that leading private hire company, Addison Lee, has signed a contract for CODA’s Financials software and services to support an advanced IT architecture which already helps them to rival the black cab trade in London.

Addison Lee has revolutionised the private hire industry and today enjoys an unrivalled reputation for moving people and parcels in London. By offering more than 2,000 vehicles fitted with air-conditioning and satellite navigation as standard, consistent pick-up times, prices that are fixed (and on average 30% cheaper than black taxis on account) Addison Lee has become a serious rival to the black cab trade. A groundbreaking automatic allocation system allows them to offer a 'within 15 minute' on demand pick-up time within central London, a service unique within the capital. The company has grown by 30% per annum for the last five years and forecasts a group turnover of £100m in 2008.

Addison Lee’s job booking system was developed in-house and enables them to text message customers detailing the driver’s name, mobile number, registration of vehicle, and estimated time of arrival. Their vision is to offer the most customer friendly and secure service in London, and the addition of CODA is an extension of this.

The decentralised nature of Addison Lee’s business means that it required a flexible system that could cope with complex requirements and support and reflect the ways in which the organisation works and operates. Financials will provide comprehensive, enterprise-wide accounting, tailored for each user and delivered from a single, secure source of information that is always up to date. In addition to its integration capability, Financials will provide Addison Lee with detailed reporting and analysis capability. Financials is browser based and will run on the company’s Sybase database management system.
