Meyers Norris Penny LLP Selects Agresso to Support Firm’s Growth
26 January 2010
Victoria, B.C. – January 26, 2010 – Agresso (www.AgressoNA.com), a leading enterprise resource planning (ERP) software company, today announced an agreement worth over $1 million dollars with Meyers Norris Penny LLP (MNP) (www.mnp.ca), one of the largest chartered accountancy and business advisory firms in Canada. In the agreement, Agresso’s ERP solution will provide core financials and payroll capabilities and act as a platform to support both MNP’s growth in size and its increasingly complex business model. MNP’s ERP evaluation process included solutions from Lawson, Elite and Epicor; however Agresso proved the best fit with MNP’s selection criteria: meeting functional and system requirements with minimal customization, a high degree of flexibility to evolve as MNP evolves, open-style architecture using industry-standard tools to facilitate integration with other systems, and ease of fit with existing hardware and communication infrastructure.
With more than 2,400 employees in 50 locations and strategically entering new markets and jurisdictions, MNP faces an ever-changing business environment. “With plans to double in size and add new locations and services over the next five years, our existing software was not going to scale with our growth plans or support the resulting complexity,” said Cheryl Lemieux, finance director for MNP. “We needed a solution like Agresso that was both comprehensive and agile so we could transform our finance team to provide strategic decision support and other more value-added services.”
As a provider of accounting and business expertise itself, MNP was conscious of avoiding the proverb of the shoemaker’s children– it’s always the shoemaker’s children who go barefoot – and is proactively preparing itself for growth and for change. MNP is well on its way; its fiscal year ending May 31, 2009 saw revenue growth of 20 percent over the previous year. In the midst of this growth, MNP was named one of the 50 Best Employers in Canada two years running, a testament to MNP’s strategic preparations for success in an evolving business environment.
“Meyers Norris Penny is a perfect example of what we call ‘Businesses Living In Change,’” said Shelley Zapp, president of Agresso North America. “They are growing, and expanding into new territories, both activities that demand responsive ERP software that won’t lock them down or entangle them in costly re-implementation exercises. They understand and embrace change and they appreciate the advantages of Agresso’s post-implementation agility.”
MNP anticipates going live with its Agresso system in the fall of 2010.
