Unit4 Connect 2017 & the Future at Work

Posted by  Chris Jeninngs

Unit4 Connect 2017 took place last week at the La Quinta Resort & Club in Greater Palm Springs. The first regional Unit4 Connect conference under the global theme of “The Future at Work,” it was a successful week of training, meetings, keynotes, learning and networking.

The week started off with 24 Intensive Training sessions over 3 days, covering Unit4 Business World On!, Unit4 Financials, Unit4 CAMS Enterprise and Sabre CentralCommand powered by Unit4. This new format, designed to provide our customers with more training, is something we’re so glad you asked for as it was met with great success.

In 2016, Unit4 launched Industry Advisory Council programs at Connect in New Orleans for Education, Not-for-profit and Financial Performance Management, led by key customers and Unit4’s industry advisors. The advisory councils were designed to influence future product innovation and deepen customer engagement into true partnerships, leading to closely aligned mutual success. This year, we launched a new advisory council for the Office of the CFO, and hosted meetings of our councils for Education and Not-for-profit.

Wednesday night saw Josh Linkner take to the stage for his keynote address (sponsored by Microsoft) on Hacking Innovation in the workplace to drive meaningful outcomes. There was a lot of head nodding and note taking going on during the hour-long keynote. Signed copies of his book were given away as prizes throughout the week and we got a lot of additional requests for copies as well.

After the inspiring keynotes addresses, we gathered for the Welcome Celebration at La Casa, a part of the La Quinta property that was once Oscar-winning actress Greta Garbo’s home. It set the stage for a fantastic evening of dinner, drinks, ice cream, dancing and networking.

Thursday was the official start of the conference and it was kicked off by Unit4 CEO Stephan Seiber, CPO Jeremy Roche, Chief Evangelist Ton Dobbe and others highlighting “The Future at Work” through Unit4 products, including a Wanda demonstration by Thomas Staven.

Over Thursday and Friday, Unit4 customers took part in over 80 different sessions on the whole rand of products, including the first look at the new Unit4 PSA Suite and prevero, our new Performance Management product. By all accounts the sessions were well received and generated an exciting buzz around future product growth.

Sponsors of this year's event included Microsoft, Agilyx, ERP Connex, SystemsAccountants, ITK Solutions Group and ServeVita. I’d like to personally thank them for their important support of Connect.

As we wrap up Unit4 Connect 2017, Connect 2018 comes into focus to once again bring together our customers for a week of learning and networking, in a new location – that should be a little less than the 108-degree weather we experienced last week. Stay tuned for the announcement of Unit4 Connect 2018!
