North America and Netherlands, April 30, 2014. UNIT4, the global leader in software that supports business change, today announced a $1.5M (€1.08M) software as a service (SaaS) agreement with Robert Morris University (RMU) for UNIT4 Agresso Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). The agreement includes access to a fully-integrated cloud solution including financial management and budgeting, HR and payroll, procurement, project costing and billing, process automation and comprehensive reporting.
RMU, located in Pittsburgh, PA is a private, comprehensive institution integrating liberal arts with a professionally focused, applied education that prepares students for leadership in a rapidly changing world. The University employs 200 full-time and 180 part-time faculty members to teach 5400 students enrolled from 37 states and 37 countries. Boasting a 93 percent undergraduate placement rate, RMU is a recognized leader for its quality programs and commitment to academic excellence.
RMU has seen record enrollment and fundraising growth, added new degree programs and facilities, increased academic rigor and it now draws students from across the country and around the globe.
“As an institution we are constantly changing and building for the future; our existing Oracle solution was broad but cumbersome and costly when changes needed to be made,” says Ellen Wieckowski, Vice President for Information Technology at RMU. “Our new strategic plan requires more business agility and we chose a subscription to UNIT4 Agresso to gain that agility and offer better services to our students, faculty and staff. Moving to the cloud alleviates the IT burden while delivering comprehensive, innovative ERP functionality that will keep pace with our needs,” she adds.
Worldwide, UNIT4 serves over 400 higher education institutions, and continues to expand its higher education and research customer base in North America. “We are seeing more organizations join us in the move to the cloud as they recognize the benefits of a SaaS model,” says Shelley Zapp, CEO of UNIT4 Business Software. “UNIT4 Agresso offers all the well-documented advantages of the cloud, comprehensive, fully-integrated functionality, and the ability to modify the system to accommodate business change,” she adds.
The university plans to go live on the system in 2015.
