UNIT4 research software to support the University of Huddersfield as it seeks to increase research revenue by 50 per cent

Sliedrecht, Netherlands, April 08, 2014, UNIT4, the global leader in software that supports business change, today announced that the University of Huddersfield, which is the current Times Higher Education “University of the Year”, is to implement UNIT4 Agresso Research Costing and Pricing. The solution is being implemented to support the University’s strategy to be an: “internationally recognized innovation and research-led institution, solving the problems and answering the questions posed by industry, science and society as a whole”. It will also underpin Huddersfield’s aim to increase research revenue by 50 per cent.

Agresso Research Costing and Pricing was developed in partnership with the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge and has sold rapidly since recent launch. It will enable the University of Huddersfield to produce accurate full economic costing, pricing, and approval estimates for pricing grant applications and research contracts. Operationally it will provide a consistent approach to research costing including data input, output, and interpretation, evidenced by clear audit trails through a single, shared solution.

The University of Huddersfield will integrate the solution with its existing Agresso Finance platform to automate and extend processes. This will reduce the cost of administration, and enable the University to provide better services to funders.

The flexibility of the solution means that it can be configured easily to meet the individual needs of our research organization and future change.”

Agresso Research Costing and Pricing will provide clear visibility of research operations with graphical dashboards on users’ landing pages illustrating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These include income versus forecast, project win/loss, if any projects are in deficit, percentage increase in number of bids versus target, utilization of staff, spend on external resources and how many projects are in progress.

Despite only being launched in September 2013, more than 20 research institutions worldwide have already purchased Agresso Research Costing and Pricing.
