Unit4, a fast growing leader in enterprise applications for service organizations, and LGSS, one of the largest shared services in the UK jointly owned by Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire County Councils, today announced that they are to work in partnership to build a ‘best-in-class’ ERP platform for public sector shared services. LGSS believes it will enable them to save millions of pounds for the founding partners and customers that share the services.
Unit4 Business World will underpin the Finance, Procurement, Human Resources and Payroll services that are operated by LGSS on behalf of its customers, which include local authorities, NHS, Adult Care Services, housing associations and schools.
LGSS, which has 1400 staff, was established in October 2010 by the merger of both organizations’ Corporate Services operations into a single, shared service; it provides professional, transactional and operational services to both county councils as well as its customers.
