Unit4, a fast growing leader in enterprise applications for service organisations, has been named by TechMarketView as “one to watch” in its UK Local Government SITS Supplier Landscape report 2015-16.
TechMarketView LLP, which provides authoritative research and analysis on the UK technology sector, states that Unit4 has “made significant progress in local government and public sector overall,” by positioning its ERP as less costly and complicated than that of rivals Oracle and SAP.
“As funding continues to fall in local government, organisations are increasingly seeking ERP that can help them deliver better services at a lower cost” said Derren Nisbet, Managing Director of Unit4 in the UK and Ireland. “That means rejecting ‘Big ERP’ in favour of solutions that, driven by the latest technologies, support the digital agenda and can help automate processes through ‘self-driving’ administration so that employees can focus on strategic tasks.”
With over 120 sector customers Unit4 is already the number one supplier of ERP systems to local government in the UK; its ERP also underpins finance at 90 per cent of local authorities in the Republic of Ireland. Underlining its positioning its customers are achieving rapid and extensive return on investment (RoI). Coventry City Council achieved RoI in just 154 days and reduced its ERP consultancy costs from £60,000 p.a. to zero.
The report also makes mention of Unit4’s latest innovation to ERP technology and its relevance to local government, “Unit4 is looking at taking its self-drive ERP into local authorities, offering greater savings at a time of budget cuts. We expect these initiatives will be well received.”
Unit4 was also recently named as “one to watch” in the UK software and IT service analyst’s UK Public Sector SITS Supplier Landscape: 2015-16 report.
