X4U Keynote speakers Jimmy Wales and Lady Marieme Jamme invite you to experience real purpose

Experiencing real purpose can mean hugely different things to different people. And success for people-centric organizations means embracing the purpose of the whole team while also satisfying the personal motivations of your individual team members.

To illustrate just how diverse real purpose can be - and the challenges of discovering and cultivating it - we've invited two inspirational thought leaders to X4U this year to provide their unique perspectives.

We all know what “ERP” stands for. But we believe it can stand for something more.

We believe that the technology we create helps our customers to liberate their people from the minutiae of administration, data entry, chasing requests, and repetitive manual tasks. Giving them the ability to concentrate on the impactful, skilled work that they signed up to do in the first place.

When it succeeds in this mission, ERP ceases to be about enterprise resource planning, and becomes part of how people experience their real purpose.

Real purpose means different things to different organizations and different people. To help you experience its true meaning and power for yourself, we’ve invited two keynote speakers to our global event X4U in October who know more about the subject than most people alive today.

Jimmy Wales – Wikipedia founded and ex-Wikimedia chair

Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales will be lending us his perspective on the nature of purpose in creating and energizing one of the most high-profile nonprofit organizations in the world today, and to his life’s missions of democratizing knowledge and creating a more informed world.

Jimmy founded Wikipedia in 2001 to bring “free information to free people.” Two years later, he founded the Wikimedia Foundation to support Wikipedia and its sister projects, supporting a network of platforms dedicated to helping everyone on earth share the sum of human knowledge.

He was appointed a fellow of Harvard Law School’s Berkman Center for Internet and Society in mid-2005. More recently, he has launched an ad-free social media platform based on the Wiki model, and has been at the forefront of efforts to combat disinformation and “fake news” online.

Lady Mariéme Jamme – technologist, philanthropist, and gender equality activist.

We’ll also be hearing from Lady Mariéme Jamme. An an award-winning technologist and pioneer in system change and a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, Lady Mariéme has been named twice on the UK Powerlist 2017 and 2018 of Britain’s 100 most influential people of African and African Caribbean Heritage.

Her goal is to empower 1 million young women and girls globally to become coders by 2030 in alignment with the United Nations 2030 Agenda. Mariéme is the newest board member of the Worldwide Web Foundation. She will be supporting the foundation in the area of gender and digital equality.

She’s the founder and CEO of technology consultancy Spotone Global Solutions, and of African-led global non-profit movement iamtheCODE. And she’ll be joining us to discuss her mission of empowering youth living in marginalized communities and advancing girls’ education through science, technology, engineering, mathematics, art, and design.

Experience what it means to experience real purpose

These two speakers will set the tone of our two days of immersive learning at Experience4U. Where we’ll be inviting you to explore how Unit4’s products and solutions are transforming the way companies work – and the way people experience their work.
