Cookies on Unit4 websites

We use cookies to provide you with enhanced functionality and personalization. Some of those cookies collect your personal data – in the sections below, you can find out more about those cookies, access your data or change your preferences.

    Use of cookies

Unit4 Group Holding B.V. and its affiliated companies (“Unit4”), use cookies. A cookie is a small file that is placed on the hard disk of your computer by a server and can only be recognized by that specific server. Some cookies process personal data. Cookies cannot harm your computer or the data on it. Please continue reading to find out more.

    Different Kinds of cookies

There are different kinds of cookies. Some cookies make it easier for you to navigate on a website or make it easier to remember things, for example usernames, passwords or (language) preferences. Other cookies register website usage to optimize your browsing experience. The data is collected via unique cookies laid down within your web browser.

The cookies used by our websites have been categorized to help you better manage them while using our websites:

    Strictly Necessary Cookies

‘Strictly Necessary Cookies’ are necessary for the website to function properly and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms .

You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but then some parts of the website will not work.

With the “Strictly Necessary Cookies” we do not collect any personal data. However, for the other types of cookies, there is personal data collection and processing, which only happens after we have acquired your explicit, informed and freely given consent.

    Performance Cookies

‘Performance Cookies’ allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our website. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the website. Third-party cookies are included in this category.

If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited our website, and will not be able to monitor its performance in order to offer you a better service.

All information these cookies process is aggregated and, therefore, anonymous.

    Functional Cookies

‘Functional Cookies’ enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. An example of a functional cookie is one that stores session-based information on ‘Live-chat’, a third-party application which allows the visitor to talk directly with a member of the Unit4 team and keep this conversation private. If you do not allow these cookies, then some or all of these services may not function properly.

    Targeting Cookies

    Google Analytic Cookies
Google Analytics is a traffic analytics tool that gives us real-time insights into how our website is being used, how much, and by whom. It is also used as a statistic tool on our website to measure performance and gain insights into how users behave on our website. Data that Google Analytics offers about our website includes visitor measurements, performance insights of landing and subpages, number of times and time of day of previous visits to our website, and information about how users found our website. Using Google Analytics on our website sets cookies on users’ browsers that process personal data.

Data that Google Analytics’ cookies collect include:

    • UserIDs consisting of a string of numbers unique to each user on our website.
    • Number of times and time of day of previous visits to our website.
    • Information about how you found our website, your search and browser history.

    Tracking cookies from our advertisers
Some tracking cookies are placed by third parties who display advertisements to you via our website. They use these cookies, with your permission, to keep track of which pages you visit from their network, in order to build a profile of your online surfing behavior. This profile is also built up on the basis of comparable information that they receive from your visit to other websites in their network. This profile is not linked to your name, address, e-mail address and the like as known to us, but only serves to match advertisements to your profile so that they are as relevant as possible to you.

To learn more about this behavioral advertising practice, you can visit www.networkadvertising.org. You can delete or permanently block these cookies via your browser settings.

These cookies are also used by Unit4 to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on Unit4.

The Targeting Cookies are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. The purpose of this personal data processing is to offer you targeted advertising and show the most relevant content for you.

If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

    Social Media Cookies

‘Social Media Cookies’ are set by a range of social media services (third parties) that we have added to the website to enable you to share our content with your friends and network. We also share information about your use of our website with our social media partners who may combine it with other information which they have acquired on you.

These cookies are capable of tracking your browser across other websites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites and platforms you visit. If you do not allow these cookies, you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools.
