Unit4 chosen to give Canadian Non-Profit full visibility and control over donations and initiatives

Victoria, BC and Manchester, NH,

  • Software meets technology and business requirements for the Canadian Diabetes Association
  • The new People Platform will help them be more productive and make better informed decisions
  • CIO says “the user interface and navigation are the best we’ve ever seen”

Unit4, a fast growing leader in enterprise applications for service organizations, today announced the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA) has chosen Unit4’s market leading Business World ERP software to better support the organization in achieving its mission through tight funding management and increased accountability.

One of Canada’s largest national health-care charities, the CDA helps those affected by diabetes to live healthy lives. It aims to prevent the onset and consequences of diabetes, and is committed to discovering a cure by funding ground-breaking research every year. Like all non-profits, the CDA required a system that would support complex financial management requirements. Financial efficiency is essential for attracting donations, determining the best use of them to deliver meaningful support, and measuring and transparently reporting on investments and results.

Unit4 Business World will enable automatic workflows and approvals, which the CDA expects will bring measureable savings. More significantly, the underlying People Platform will replace the need for expensive customizations, providing flexibility for approved users to make changes that automatically update throughout the system. It will ensure better engagement organization-wide through a unique personal user experience, in-context information delivery, unmatched flexibility and out-of-the-box capabilities creating instant value.

"Unit4's user interface and navigation are the best we’ve ever seen.” Nigel Carpenter, CIO, @DiabetesAssoc

Nigel Carpenter, Chief Information Officer, Canadian Diabetes Association

“Donations are a demonstration of trust so it’s vital we use the very most of every dollar received to help Canadians with diabetes to live healthier lives, and to enable researchers in their quest to find a cure. Unit4’s experience in the sector and its latest Business World offering will address all our needs – and without customization,” says Nigel Carpenter, Chief Information Officer, CDA. “It’s the first financial platform I’ve looked at where both the technology and business sides of the organization were impressed. During our evaluation, we dug deep into the architecture and our team was captivated with how it’s designed to be both intuitive and flexible. The user interface and navigation are the best we’ve ever seen.”

The contract is for the latest version of Unit4 Business World and includes Experience Packs covering Tasks, Timelines, People Planner, Project Planner and Expenses.

The Canadian Diabetes Association joins an elite group of non-profit customers around the world including Save the Children, The Salvation Army, The Red Cross, Conservation International and many others.
