AGS Airports consolidates on-premises enterprise systems to Unit4 cloud ERP

Unit4 Business World ERP central to systems consolidation & future cloud strategy

Victoria, BC and Manchester, NH,

Unit4, a fast growing leader in enterprise applications for service organizations, today announced that AGS Airports Limited has successfully completed a rapid cloud implementation of Unit4’s Business World ERP suite, replacing an Oracle solution. The company selected a cloud deployment methodology and met a challenging seven-month implementation deadline in time for the Airport Group’s year end.

AGS Airports is a partnership between Ferrovial and Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), established in 2014 to acquire Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton airports when they were sold by Heathrow Airport Holdings. The result of the sale meant that AGS had to separate a large number of complex systems and processes from Heathrow within a very tight timeline so as to ensure it could maintain business continuity and minimize any disruption to performance across the three airports. The search began and Unit4 was among a number of solutions evaluated.

Our team is freed of the administrative & IT management burden associated with managing ERP and can focus on adding value. #EnSw

Jon McGrane, CFO (Interim) for AGS

Jon McGrane, CFO (Interim) for AGS, and Transition Director for the separation, commented: “It was a big undertaking for us as we had around 20 IT systems to replace and needed to decide whether an integrated ERP or standalone best-in-class solutions would meet our needs and the implementation schedule effectively.  We were confident Unit4 Business World would give us the breadth and depth of Financial, HR and Procurement functionality you’d get from the bigger integrated ERP solutions but without the price tag, complexity or rigidity. In selecting cloud deployment, our team is freed of the administrative and IT management burden associated with managing ERP systems and can focus on adding more value and supporting our wider business objectives. Unit4 was the logical choice for our business.”

AGS and Unit4 scoped the project comprehensively to ensure the go-live date was achieved within the tight time frame. In addition, having completed its go-live within seven months, AGS was able to run its first month end, which was also its year end, as well as cutting over its entire payroll system, effectively, efficiently and without issue on the new Business World solution.
