Unit4, a fast growing leader in enterprise applications for service organizations, today announced that Buckinghamshire New University will add to its existing Business World portfolio with Unit4 Student Management on the Microsoft Azure Cloud to support its growth strategy. The University hopes Unit4 Student Management will improve the student experience by offering a personalized digital campus experience.
Unit4 Student Management will provide a consumer-grade digital experience across the entire academic lifecycle including vital interactions such as tuition fees, course management, attendance and housing. It will also provide staff with a valuable insight into student performance and analytics.
Nicholas Roussel-Milner, Director of Information Systems & Technology at Buckinghamshire New University, said: “The University recognizes the importance of IT in achieving its goals and is making a significant investment in technology over the next five years, which will enhance the student experience, drive business transformation and improve the quality of IT service delivery. In this connected age, students expect information at their fingertips and access to services 24/7. We want to match or surpass the digital experience they receive in other areas of their lives and the new student management system is part of a wider strategy to move from just managing student data to delivering an enriched personalized student experience.”
Unit4 Student Management, which is founded upon Microsoft Azure, will become the most widely used technology at the University with workflow and self-service for over 1000 staff and 8,800 students.
Buckinghamshire New University is already implementing Unit4 Business World finance, HR & Payroll. The integration between these and student management will ensure transparent relational information across functions for better insight so decisions can be made efficiently.
“We are very pleased to be working with Buckinghamshire New University on this latest project,” said Derren Nisbet, Managing Direct of Unit4 UK&I. “In an increasingly competitive market the University’s leaders recognize the need to provide the modern student with the information they require using digital technologies. University life for students that pay fees is increasingly becoming influenced by the wrap around service and experience that complements teaching.”
