Unit4 Customer Awards 2016 - best in cloud winner ACL, sat down with us in New Orleans to discuss their special achievement and how Unit4 is helping them optimize their sales to cash cycle.
ACL, a Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) software provider, who’s platform helps identify and manage high-impact risks, was previously using a cloud ERP vendor that was underdeveloped compared to their growing requirements for their modern software sales business. Additionally, they were blinded by limited reporting capabilities and quality issues around system integration and user experience. The sales to cash cycle was a particular challenge for ACL, opportunities would get stuck and they had to be fixed manually with excel.
As a result of these challenges, ACL decided to replace their previous ERP solution with a cloud deployment of Unit4 Business World On!. ACL had already moved most of their technology infrastructure off premise so implementing a new cloud-based ERP was an obvious choice. This also helped them speed up the implementation process.
Utilizing Business World’s web services and integrating to Salesforce.com, ACL was able to optimize their sales to cash cycle. This allowed them to validate and synchronize all parts of their sales cycle between the two systems, relieving them of their main business challenge.
The sales to cash cycle challenge is no longer an issue. Every time an opportunity becomes a sales order, a project is created in Salesforce.com and Unit4 Business World. This allows them to have the sales team access customer sales orders or invoices and project information right in Salesforce.com, without having to go into the finance system or email the finance department. The finance department also doesn’t need to go into the CRM to gather the financial data they need to do sophisticated analysis or predictive models. This integration has allowed ACL to have full visibility of projects, from the initial creation of an opportunity through to cash collection. The reporting capabilities of fully integrated systems also allow ACL executives to analyze company-wide data, provide insight to make informed decisions.
