Beyond Earth Day: Everyday Actions for a Healthier Planet

At Unit4, we believe caring for the planet isn't something that should happen once a year. 

While Earth Day on April 22 is an important moment to reflect and raise awareness, our commitment to sustainability and community engagement extends beyond a single day.

Across our teams and global offices, our people take the initiative throughout the year to support environmental action, community wellbeing, and meaningful change. Here are just a few recent examples of how our teams are turning purpose into action at Unit4:

Local Action, Big Impact – Sweden Office

In our Swedish office, colleagues marked Earth Day by giving back to their local environment. 

On April 22, they joined forces to clean up their surrounding community—collecting over 15 kilograms of trash in just a few hours. It was a simple yet powerful way to contribute to a cleaner, healthier neighborhood and raise awareness about the impact of everyday waste.

Connecting with Nature – APAC Team in Indonesia

To celebrate the Unit4 Global Well-being Day, a day when all Unit4 employees have a day off to take care of themselves or engage in a good cause of their preference, as well as Earth Day, our colleagues in Indonesia embarked on an eco-adventure to Curug Cibingbin in Sentul, Bogor, West Java. 

In addition to enjoying natural beauty, the team rolled up their sleeves to clean up litter along the trails, transforming the outing into a hands-on environmental initiative. It’s a great example of combining team building, wellness, and environmental care in one rewarding day.

Crafting with a Cause – Wrocław Office

As part of our Earth Day activities in Wrocław, the team hosted a creative and sustainable workshop focused on making recycled toys for cats. 

Led by a passionate colleague who volunteers with the Bubble of Good Foundation, the event brought colleagues together to craft fishing rod toys using leftover materials. These handmade items will be sold to support the foundation’s work, adding a charitable impact to a fun and collaborative experience.

Before the workshop began, the team also took part in a small but meaningful plant rescue operation, carefully relocating greenery from office spaces impacted by renovation work.

Act4Good – Employee-Driven Environmental Impact

Our Act4Good program empowers Unit4 employees to volunteer a portion of their time to causes they care about. Through this initiative, our people are making a positive impact locally and supporting global community projects, organizing donation drives, and contributing their professional skills to nonprofit organizations.

One recent Act4Good highlight saw several of our colleagues volunteer at Donkeys’ Hill Farm near Frascati, Italy. This unique experience included everything from animal care and gardening to painting and repairs—all while supporting the farm’s mission to promote environmental education. 

This experience reflects what we value most at Unit4: meaningful connections, community spirit, and the power of purposeful action.

Whether it’s through local workshops, outdoor cleanups, or global volunteering initiatives, our people are constantly finding new ways to contribute to a healthier, more sustainable world. These efforts reflect our values—and remind us that when we act together, even small steps can create lasting impact.
