Mike Ettling

Chief Executive Officer

I’m a CEO, Investor, builder of world-class teams, champion of diversity and continuous learner, and I’m passionate about people. From my first leadership role in the Boy Scouts, to exec positions in the tech industry, my career has revolved around elevating, engaging and enabling people. I joined Unit4 to get the market as excited in our unique approach to enterprise tech as I am. We’re building systems that change how people experience work, and the impact will be huge.

Outside of work I’m a family man, a Liverpool supporter, and a proud South African.

The customer journey and experience is a critical component of a brand’s development and successful growth. I am a passionate believer in the power of combining well-motivated teams with agile methods to drive rapid and ongoing value for our customers and the stakeholders that they represent. Being a part of their journey and success is fundamental to our future growth and success. To that end, I am focused on building holistic, integrated, expert and agile teams to enable amazing customer journeys.

When not engaged with our customers and teams, I am a keen surfer, mountain-biker and rugby fan.

Chief Product and Technology Officer

I’ve been fascinated by technology since age 14: from my first Tandy TRS Model 1, through to developing cloud-based, super-scalable solutions and bringing innovative technologies such as AI, chatbots, and predictive analytics to ERP. We really can now have better, non-invasive and pervasive solutions — to improve People Experience and help us focus on what we truly love.

My spare time is spent with family and friends. I can often be found road biking to stay in shape, and I love experiencing different cultures through traveling.

Chief Revenue Officer

I’m passionate about making a real difference for our customers and people, with our innovative and industry-leading technology. I believe my main strength as a leader is to help sales-oriented teams and individuals discover and achieve their potential and, in doing so, helping to realize expected business, as well as personal outcomes. This is why I am at Unit4 and I’m really enjoying the ride.

I believe that the principles of empowerment, transparency and focus generate trust and results, that true diversity builds winning teams and that competitiveness is a core foundation for all businesses.

Most of my passions outside of work are sport related and can be experienced on or near a mountain, in both the winter and summer time, and preferably with the whole family. Life should be enjoyed, and practicing the ‘good-life’ outside of work with family and friends all over the world is a top priority for me.

Chief Financial Officer

For me, the most important asset of a company is its people, and I am passionate about nurturing and developing talent – not just in my teams but across the whole company. I enjoy building high-performing finance teams that are true business partners to the company’s senior leaders and are critical to efficiently scaling high-growth technology companies.

When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family, travelling, enjoying good food, and I’m also a keen golfer.

Chief People Officer

I believe the key to business success is a shared cause and purpose, genuine leaders and world class people. Throughout my career I’ve had the great fortune to be part of businesses where I’ve been able to help shape each of these elements. I’m passionate about helping people achieve a shared sense of success in their own development and business performance whilst driving engagement and loyalty through fully aligned business and people strategies.

When not working, my husband and I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends at the beautiful south west coast of the UK. We love to travel enjoying sun, snow, cities and mountains in equal measure.

Regional President, Nordics

Working together and being able to clearly motivate, inspire, be honest and create commitment with our employees, customers and partners is something that I think is important in my leadership and that has always been important to me, throughout my 20+ years in both the international and Nordic organization.

Regional President, Continental Europe

Having previously served as DACH managing director, I returned to Unit4 in 2021 to continue our growth story, driving value to customers in the region. In my experience working with the biggest enterprise software companies in the world, I have learned the importance of community and partnership. Vendors have a commitment to serving customers through innovation, supporting their digital transformation and optimally supporting employees every day.

In my free time, I enjoy playing golf – best with my 10-year-old son Jonas. Also, I love to spend the weekends in the alps for hiking, skiing and other outdoor activities.
