St. Helens Borough Council Selects Unit4 ERP and FP&A to Help Deliver Transformational Change

London, UK

January 4, 2023

London, UK, January 4, 2022 -- Unit4, a leader in enterprise cloud applications for people-centric organizations, today announced that St. Helens Borough Council has selected Unit4 ERP and FP&A, together with Proactis Invoice Capture, to replace inhouse legacy solutions with best-of-breed SaaS Enterprise Resource Planning. This will allow the organization to integrate business processes much more easily, offering a better user experience and maximizing the potential of modern technologies.

St. Helens Council is one of five district Councils in Merseyside in the Northwest of England, and one of 36 metropolitan authorities in England. It is home to over 180,000 people with 4,800 businesses based in the borough. Like all Councils in the UK, its focus is on ensuring its residents are supported and, by investing in new technology, it will be better placed to improve the way teams work together and deliver an enhanced service.

With Unit4 and Proactis, the Council will replace legacy systems that are no longer fit for purpose and move its finance solution to the cloud. This will not only reduce its reliance on inhouse IT teams for support but will lower the need for manual intervention in business processes. This will free up staff to focus on other strategic areas such as streamlining internal workflows and enhancing analysis of financial information.  The Council will benefit from seamless integrations, data accuracy and full visibility across all teams and systems, which will enable employees to improve approvals of supplier invoices and create more predictability around financial performance.

By selecting Unit4 ERP and FP&A as well as Proactis Invoice Capture, St. Helens Council will also be able to take advantage of:

  • Automation to reduce the time spent on administrative tasks
  • Integrated asset tracking with accounting, procurement and other financial functions for full financial control and visibility
  • Improved control to drive efficiencies throughout the entire procurement process
  • Increased speed and accuracy in planning
  • Deeper insight into operational and financial information for informed decision-making

Unit4’s public sector software solutions focus on optimising ‘People Experience’ to enable teams to do more of what matters – in this case, delivering greater value to the community. Unit4 helps Councils like St. Helens Borough Council to transform the way its people work, drive efficiency, build in predictability and increase citizen value. By deploying Unit4 ERP and FP&A, the Council will see a boost in productivity, a reduction in costs, and more effective planning processes which, in turn, will result in improvements for the people it serves. St Helens joins Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils, and Norwich City Council, as part of the Public Sector UK portfolio of companies.
