Unit4, world leader in Student Management systems for Higher Education, announces that National Park College (NPC) has selected Unit4 Student Management and Unit4 Business World On! running on the Microsoft Azure Cloud to replace an aging legacy system. In addition to student management, the new partnership between Unit4 and NPC will also include use of Unit4’s keystone ERP system to manage student records, finance, HR and payroll.
After a multi-year review of major student management providers, NPC chose Unit4 for its mobile friendly platform and responsive design, as well as for the flexibility and ease of use when implementing configurable solutions. NPC decided to replace its legacy ERP software due to the system’s high customization and maintenance costs, lack of flexibility, and inability to easily export data. Additionally, despite using the legacy platform for many years, the system was not able to be integrated with many of NPCs other software, and many features were never implemented at all. Unit4 was chosen for its improvements in these areas, as well as to help NPC improve student success by implementing data analytics capabilities in Unit4 Student Management that will help predict when students are at risk of academic difficulty or failure and allow for early intervention.
NPC is a community college located in Hot Springs, Arkansas that is attended by traditional full-time students as well as non-traditional part-time and online students. The college also offers workforce training, adult continuing education, and college-level high school courses. Earlier this year, Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson changed the funding formula for higher education institutions in Arkansas, linking the amount of government support provided to the number of students who complete degrees. In order to better meet the needs of their students and to comply with changing funding formulas, NPC will use Unit4 to optimize student success by becoming a truly data-driven campus. The college plans to improve student retention rates through the use of actionable insights obtained through Unit4’s analytics capabilities, including live monitoring of student progress as well as indicators of student success and failure based on previous performance data.
“Student success has always been of the utmost importance to NPC"Blake Butler, Chief Information Officer at National Park College
“Student success has always been of the utmost importance to NPC and by implementing a platform that allows us to track and monitor student performance and the behaviors that are most likely to lead to drop out, we hope to improve student retention rates,” Blake Butler, Chief Information Officer at National Park College. “Finding a student management solution that not only offers robust mobile capabilities along with easily customizable solutions, but can also help us to meet our student success goals is incredibly important to us. We’re looking forward to working with the Unit4 team to implement many of the programs and features we were unable to provide to our students, faculty, and staff due to the limitations of our legacy student management solution.”
NPC will implement Unit4 Student Management and Unit4 Business World On! across all aspects of the student lifecycle, including admissions, course registration, housing and financial aid management. The platform will provide both students and faculty with continuous access to campus applications and data on their mobile devices.
“We are looking forward to helping National Park College modernize their student experience with a mobile and data-driven solution,” said Jami Morshed, Global Head of Higher Education, Unit4. “Student success is paramount in any higher ed institution, and there is a lot of untapped potential when it comes to using data to predict student retention. Unit4 Student Management will provide NPC with the tools faculty and advisors need to promote student success.”
