Unit4, a fast-growing leader in enterprise applications for service organisations, has announced that Manchester Metropolitan University has purchased Unit4 Student Management via the G-Cloud framework as part of its ‘Student Journey Transformation Programme’ (SJTP).
The programme aims to significantly improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the overall student journey through greater personalisation and digitisation of services to students and academics.
The University, which is one of the UK’s largest and most popular, is proud of its inspiring teaching and world-leading research. Having recently received a silver award in the Teaching Excellence Framework, it is committed to delivering innovative and fresh approaches to the student experience. The SJTP will ensure that the University remains at the forefront of delivering an excellent student experience through the modernisation of its operations.
Manchester Metropolitan will use Unit4 Student Management, delivered in the Microsoft Azure Cloud, to provide a next generation and personalised digital experience to more than 38,000 students and 4,500 staff, across any device, so they can manage campus affairs. The solution will provide the University’s staff with a 360-degree view of individual students as they progress from potential applicant, to student, to alumni.
“We put students at the heart of everything we do and are committed to ensuring we provide the best possible experience and support for our students,” said Professor Karen Moore, Registrar and Executive Sponsor for the Student Journey Transformation Programme at Manchester Metropolitan.
“We are excited to be working in partnership with Unit4 on a transformational project that will both enhance the services we provide to students and deliver greater flexibility and agility for the University.’’
Manchester Metropolitan selected Unit4 Student Management as part of a wide-ranging review of technology options, which included assessing all major student management providers. The University went to extensive lengths to ensure services are focused on students and academics including creating ‘personas’ and evaluating the solutions against these.
The University was impressed by Unit4’s partnership approach and its commitment to the sector. It felt the solution was flexible and could help Manchester Metropolitan navigate new modes of delivery and non-standard provision, technological advances and changes in functionality and curriculum structures, as well as streamline the process to manage and provide self-service for activities from enquiry through to graduation and beyond.
“Manchester Metropolitan realises that digitally savvy students expect seamless and easy online interaction with their chosen institution. So we are delighted to be partnering with the University on this important project to help them deliver against student expectations,” said Matt Searles, Industry Director for Education at Unit4.
“The scale of the deal and the thoroughness of the procurement process, highlights that Unit4’s digital Student Management solution is the perfect tool to help even the largest institutions modernise the student experience.”
