Unit4, a fast growing leader in enterprise applications for service organisations, today announced that The College of Estate Management (CEM) is to implement Unit4 Business World Finance and Procurement ERP in the cloud to support international expansion.
CEM is committed to providing the highest-quality supported online learning for the Built Environment; enhancing students’ employability, academic standing and career development prospects. Its degree programmes are taught by academics that are also leading practitioners in their field, and are designed to meet the growing global demand from employers and students for affordable and flexible learning.
CEM aims to expand the delivery of its consistently high-quality online learning around the world. Important to delivering this success is the need to empower staff and deliver the best experience to students. Business World will help CEM achieve this by enabling staff to considerably reduce administration and instead focus on strategic finance like, for example, providing budget holders with the information they need to determine where their investments are having the biggest impact for an outstanding student experience.
Brian Strange, Head of Finance at CEM, said, “We have selected Unit4’s Business World, to replace our existing software, after a thorough process to define our requirements and identify suitable alternative solutions.”
He continued, “We were impressed with several of Business World's features including: built-in workflows and integrated document management; a variety of reporting functionality; a sector-specific template approach to implementation, and user-defined Flexifields. The system is able to integrate with both our existing student and course administration system and our soon- to-be-implemented new payment platform.”
Brian concluded, “We are very much looking forward to progressing with the project and working closely with Williams Woodward, our Unit4 partner, who is implementing Business World.”
Unit4 Business World will provide real-time insight as the business environment changes, for instance relevant employees at the college will be able to analyse financial and non-financial data like the impact of a growth in student numbers on finances, and if necessary, drill down into more detailed information such as territories, so that it can fine-tune its strategies.
The solution will be delivered in the cloud and available on any device so that employees can interact with information and complete expenses for example, at a time and place that suits them.
“We are delighted to be working with a forward-thinking institution like The College of Estate Management that really sees the value of next-generation technology,” said Mark Wilson, Interim Managing Director of Unit4 in the UK and Ireland. “Business World will help them do away with unnecessary processes and administration so that skilled staff can focus on more strategic activities like financial planning and teaching. The inherent flexibility that underpins Business World will also benefit the college as it grows so that it can scale quickly and cost-effectively.”
This announcement is the latest in a series that sees Unit4 strengthen its position as the number one provider of ERP to post-16 education institutions in the UK.
