UNIT4, the global leader in software that supports business change, today announced that the City & Guilds Group has purchased a UNIT4 Agresso ERP cloud deployment as part of its strategy to provide digital platforms to staff and to support growth across its four divisions – City & Guilds UK, City & Guilds International, City & Guilds Kineo and ILM (the Institute of Leadership & Management).
The City & Guilds Group operates in an increasingly competitive market. It accredits its customers – further education colleges, private training providers and employers – to become City & Guilds “centers” that provide high-quality education qualification services under its banner.
The group will use UNIT4’s Agresso ERP solution to underpin shared services for human resources and projects for 1,150 employees across the four divisions. The flexibility of the solution was important, enabling the group to easily adapt to the continuous evolution of its individual business units.
“We are people-centric and realize the importance of providing our talent with the latest digital tools.” City & GuildsDerek Seume, HR Data & Systems Manager at the City & Guilds Group
“We are a people-centric organization and we realize the importance of providing our talent with the latest digital tools so that they can run great educational services,” said Derek Seume, HR Data & Systems Manager at the City & Guilds Group. “UNIT4’s Agresso Human Resources and Projects solutions are role-based and capitalize on the latest social, mobile, analytics and cloud technologies. This investment in digital is aligned to our strategy and also sends a message to our employees that we are a forward-thinking organization that will empower them and engage with them. They will have access to the information they need at any time, from any device.”
As part of its growth strategy the group is expanding internationally. UNIT4’s ERP will support this by providing a consistent “City & Guilds employee experience” no matter where they are located. Also, as it is cloud, the solution will easily scale to meet greater demand.
The Group already uses iCams online recruitment software provided by UNIT4 strategic partner Hireserve. This solution will plug straight into the UNIT4 Human Resources software enabling the City & Guilds Group to reduce administration and improve visibility of human capital management at the start of the recruitment process, right through to the moment an employee leaves.
“Too many employees experience a downgrade in technology the moment they step into the workplace,” said Helen Sutton, Managing Director for the UK and Ireland at UNIT4. “The City & Guilds Group realizes that if it is to embrace the digital revolution it must equip staff with the latest social, mobile, analytic and cloud technology. We are delighted they recognize UNIT4 as the leader in this field.”
